英文版本的排版也很差，中文版的版式努力跟它保持一致，一样差。

没有点ps基础的人怕是读起来一头雾水！

内容很好！排版极差！
钻研LAB绝对离不开的一本好书！
唯一的缺点：图片和文字排版极差，注意,不是一般的差，是极差！完全的外行+白痴做出的东西，图片居然一点边都不知道留的，字间距行间距设置的更是恶心。要不是因为内容非常好，就凭这版面，给偶当手纸，偶都觉得恶心。
本来绝对是5星的书，因为超级狗屎的排版，我只能打4星了。再次鄙视下排版的那狗屎编辑！一本值得收藏的书，活活让他们给毁了。

下面这本书的中译本似乎还没出版：

印刷质量差，主要反映在图片质量上。
图文排版差，很多关联图文需要来回翻页才能对号，累。
废话太多。可能是因为是LAB的专著的原因，为了凑数，本来一句话可以描述的，长篇累赘要写成十句话。
虽然厚厚一本书，但全书真正实用的内容合起来其实就一章左右。
其实，如果把此书精华归纳成一个章节，加在《PHOTOSHOP CS2数码照片专业处理技法》里，这样的搭配就完美了。

各位或许想知道，Margulis可能今年会发行本书的第二版（不过还没有确定），他本人列举的内容变动如下：

Add at end the possibility of using an extreme steepen followed by a
reduction in opacity. Not too many changes.
Or maybe just get rid of all three images with different canyons, and add the
original chapter to the CD.
May wish to swap out Yellowstone Lake and add another Canyon.

Chapter 1, Part II
Differentiate overlay, soft light, straight-line
Show Man from Mars and differentiate it from the opacity change added to first
half.
Also: a comparison of Vibrance setting in ACR.

Chapter 2 (structure of LAB), Part I
Add a quiz showing swapping the channels as in PP5E (but maybe just
promise it and put it at the end).
End by adding the comment about workflow: possibly easiest to deal with hair
color, for example. New recommendation: use LAB in Info palette and add
graphics.

Chapter 2, Part II.
End with a A mix-up-the-AB channels quiz as in PP5E. Discuss further the
role of the L in colored images

Chapter 3 (Vary the Recipe), Part I.
Am only halfway through. Some changes re versions. Not sure that we have
the best waterfall image. Also woman image is pretty poor. See if we can
replace.

Chapter 3, Part II
OK as is.

Chapter 4, (role of the center point) Part I.
Should probably be redone from scratch, emphasizing layer masking and
pointing out that the original images were from film. How about the Zebras,
and the maple leaf?

Recurring theme: if you don't care about color balance then maybe this is a
better approach. Or, if you don't have much time.

Where is LAB as creative tool? Possibility of Yellowstone images:

Chapter 4, Part II
Opening half is good but the three images in the back are questionable.

Chapter 5, Part I/ Sharpen Blur
Serviceable but blur half should be rewritten to give more prominence to
Surface Blur and Lens Blur. Sharpening section has issue that L only is
recommended. States that hiraloam is beyond scope of book. Either this has
to be expanded or another chapter needs be added. Or should this be two
chapters, one on Sharpen, one on Blur

Need to add suggestion of half-darkening the L after sharpening.

Chapter 5, Part II
Limited to conventional sharpening (no hiraloam) this is pretty good. Should
perhaps toss the Tom picture in favor of one with better noise. Must consider
hiraloam either here or as a separate chapter. Also must consider luminosity
blending.

Chapter 6, Part I Myths and Dangers
The masking section should be rewritten.
Add as myth: that luminosity layers work the same way in RGB as LAB; The
Luminosity calculation/when to flatten

Chapter 6, Part II
This 8/16 part can be omitted and put on CD if there's a better alternative
available, but is OK as is.

Chapter 7
This is workflow and needs to be reviewed carefully. Possibly theoretical
workflow considerations to be followed by a practical workflow chapter later
on. Maybe this should be more of an introduction to the second half of the
book. Five Chapters.

Chapter 8
Imaginary Colors. Apparently OK as is.

Chapter 9
Selections and masking. Must add the new CS3 selection tool.
Better discussion of layer masking needed and blurring
The greenery and the Hong Kong images are not so good.

Chapter 10 (Color Changes)
Looks good as is.

Chapter 11 RETOUCHING
Sergiev Posad image is pretty stupid
Look at the possibility of the new colorizing maneuver.
Do we add luminosity mode stuff here?

Chapter 12 Command, click, control

It appears that we need to add an entire chapter on Man from Mars Method.
Here there is only one example.

Add people shots

Then maybe a chapter on RGB crx, commenting how LAB values can be used
to evaluate?

Chapter 12 (second half)
Command click stuff is basically OK, but check the Couple on Bridge shot.

In horse image, comment on the scene in the pressroom in the argument
between the pressman, me, and the CSR, each preferring a different version

Maybe add another Death Valley image.

M from M method is aided by blend from AB in directon of off color. Can blend
one, or two channels. Two-channel excample: IMG 0990 from Nova Scotia

Chapter 13: calibration is mostly correct. Need to redo the sRGB section. Also,
add CIECAM. Maybe should go to CD

Chapter 14: This is the contrast v. color RGB chapter. Needs to be redone
from scratch for new workflow. Maybe archive the existing chapter onto the
CD.

Chapter 15: Blending A and B into L. Needs to be reviewed in light of new
workflow. Also perhaps should continue Man from Mars here with color-
restricting blends.

Chapter 16: Faces. Needs to be Reviewed; all images should be retained but
redone to see if there is any significant improvement from last time.

在封底上面有一个第五版的 professional photo 中文版即将发布的广告。这个同 photoshop lab 修色圣典是两本完全不一样的书。

个人感觉lab这本书写的非常好，不足的地方就是翻译的比较晦涩，看起来有些绕口。总体而言，是一本非常专业的书籍，不是泛泛而谈的那种，值得买上一本细细研读。

我今天去看了下。封底说9月份会上市的是另一本书吧？
